Creating
Dynamic Presentations
In this course
students will learn to: create and modify presentations; edit and
format text; create and modify visual elements such as clip art
and shapes; understand and use the concept of scale and sizing;
create output such as print documents, slides, handouts and speaker
notes; deliver presentations using a variety of media; and manage
files. This course features state-of-the-art presentation software
such as MS Power Point. This course also prepares students for the
Microsoft PowerPoint Core certification exam.
Database Design and Management
In this course
students learn to: identify database objects and elements; create
and modify databases, tables, queries, and forms; organize and view
data; define database relationships; produce reports; and integrate
databases with a variety of applications. This course features state-of-the-art
database software such as MS Access. This course also prepares students
for the Microsoft Access Core certification exam.
Health Care Data
In this course
students will learn: data structure, content and use; verifying
the completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness of data; the billing
process; validate coding accuracy using clinical record information;
clinical classification system using ICD-9-CM and CPT coding.
Health Care Environment
In this course
students will learn: the health care delivery system; interpret
and apply laws and industry standards; understand the role of various
providers and systems within the continuum of healthcare services;
and legal and ethical issues including release of records, requesting
records; encounter data; projection of records; and confidentiality
policies.
Health Information Analysis
In this course
students will learn: collecting data; calculating and interpreting
healthcare statistics; analyze clinical data to identify trends;
and presenting data in verbal and written forms.
Health Care Information Technology and Systems
In this course
students will learn: common software packages; using electronic
and imaging technology to store medical records; retrieving data;
generating reports from various data sources; enforce confidentiality;
quality control; collecting and reporting data on incomplete records;
maintaining data integrity; paper-based records; and patient numbering
and file systems.
Health Care Organization and Management
In this course
student will learn: monitoring of staff levels, turnaround time,
productivity, and workflow; developing productivity control measures;
benchmarking performance; determining resource needs; developing
quality control procedures; and resolving customer complaints.
Medical Terminology, Physiology, and Anatomy
In this course
students will learn: basic medical terminology; the muscular system;
the cardiovascular system; the respiratory system; the lymphatic
and immune systems; the endocrine system; the nervous system; special
senses including the eyes and ears; the digestive system; the skin;
the urinary system; and the reproductive system.
Personal Computer Fundamentals
In this course
students learn to: keyboard; use and configure MS Outlook, install,
configure, and upgrade hardware and software; diagnose, trouble
shoot, and perform preventive maintenance for hardware and software;
identify motherboard, processors, memory and other components; install,
configure, maintain and troubleshoot printers; operating systems
fundamentals; install, configure and upgrade operating systems;
and basic networking. This course also prepares students for the
CompTia A+ certification exam.
Spreadsheet Design and Management
In this course
students learn: working with cells and cell data; spreadsheet management;
spreadsheet formats and printing; creating and modifying formulas,
charts and graphs; import and export data; working with ranges;
customizing spreadsheets; auditing formulas and spreadsheet; and
analyzing and summarizing data. This course features state-of-the-art
applications such as MS Excel. This course also prepares students
for the Microsoft Excel Core certification exam.
Word Processing
In this course
students learn; customizing paragraphs; formatting documents; customizing
tables; creating and modifying graphs; mail merge utilities; creating,
editing and running macros; and customizing menus and toolbars.
This course features state-of-the-art applications such as MS Word.
This course also prepares students for the Microsoft Excel Word
certification exam.
