Special Improvement
Districts (SID) provide municipalities with the tools to compete more
effectively and efficiently with other retail and commercial markets,
particularly shopping malls. By implementing structures for the professional
organization and management of downtown business services, districts develop
management strategies for competitive business growth utilizing private/public
partnerships. They begin with the understanding that service is a requirement
for business development and excellent service is a competitive advantage.
Excellent service is not an accident and neither are successful business
communities. They are planned and managed professionally.
Members of the SID
are entitled to various resources and channels of communication that businesses
outside of the district are not eligible to receive. We encourage each
business to take advantage of these resources and work with us to increase
and maintain business here tomorrow and in the years to come.
As a member of
New Brunswick City Market, businesses are entitled to:
- A copy of the City
Market member mailing list.
- Participation in
the downtown Parking Validation program, which allows you to provide
customers with one free hour of parking when they park in any cashiered
downtown deck or surface lot.
- Subscription to
Newswire, an electronic bulletin providing information and updates on
promotions, seminars, parking, improvements, and other downtown news.
- Participation in
downtown programs and promotions, advertising and marketing efforts.
- Special advertising
rates with the Home News & Tribune and other media for special promotions
and inclusion in City Market inserts.
- Free inclusion
in the New Brunswick Web Site with the name, address and phone number
of your business.
- Increased exposure
from over 75,000 people that attend the special events.
