Municipal Government
 

 

New Brunswick was incorporated in 1784 and currently operates under a Mayor and Council form of government. Amayor is elected every four years, and five at-large representatives are elected to the city council on a rotating basis for a term of four years.

Council meetings are held the first and third Wednesday of each month. The meetings take place in Council Chambers in City Hall on Bayard Street at 7:00 p.m. The time of the meeting may change based on proper public notification.
